Community caseloads: working with children from 0-18 with, developmental delay, Talipes, Torticollis, gait and mobility issues and neurological and genetic conditions; within their homes, nurseries, schools and clinic.

You will provide physiotherapy interventions with the aim of maximising children’s physical abilities to engage in meaningful every day activities; and you will be supported by Band 6 and 7 Physiotherapists and work closely with assistants and Occupational Therapists in addition to the wider MDT.

Experience of working with children either on placement, or in a voluntary or paid employment role will provide a good foundation of knowledge of child development and the ability to engage with and motivate children.

It is essential that you hold a valid driving licence and use of a car for work.

You will:
-Undertake assessment, advice and treatment to children with a range of conditions
-Manage your own caseload of patients and maintain your own records as an autonomous practitioner with support and supervision of more senior members of the team
-Work together with other teams and agencies, parents and children, sharing information regarding therapy and outcomes and supporting the young persons overall outcomes, whilst ensuring their safety at all times
-Support service development and audit
You may also:
-Provide blocks of treatment and run groups
-Provide Hydrotherapy alongside Band 6 and 7 Physios

Working through a competency framework, as your knowledge, experience and confidence develops in the area of paediatrics, more challenges, complex caseloads and autonomous working will be introduced to develop your skills further, preparing you for your next stage in your career.
In addition to preceptorship for all new graduates and clinical competency development, the team has a strong programme of in service training and peer support groups providing opportunities to learn from and with other members of the team and outside agencies.
The Paediatric Therapy team is supportive of each other and driven to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people of Salford.
