Summary


Looking for Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners to work as a member of the Emergency Medicine team in any of two A&E departments at Northwick Park and Ealing Hospitals.

The post holder will be responsible for acquiring the skills of recognising, negotiating and implementing the delivery of care to patients from an undifferentiated cohort. These competencies will evolve alongside the theoretical studies at MSc level.



This post is a fixed-term contract whilst completing the first two years of the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, with a possible extension of up to one additional year. The post-holder is expected to pass all assessments and be signed off as a qualified practitioner.

Once signed off as a qualified ACP with mutual agreement between supervisor and trainee, where staffing allows, the trainee may have the opportunity to apply for a role as a qualified ACP position within the Emergency Medicine team.

The main duties of this role will include:
• Patient centred care will be delivered by assessing patients with pathway specific presentations, taking histories, examining, listing possible differential diagnoses in a view to initiating required investigations, treatments, advice and management using professional autonomous decision-making processes. The post holder will learn to liaising, when appropriate, with other healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure safe and effective ongoing management and care.
• The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality innovative service to patients, through the implementation of evidence based clinical practice, supported by continual professional development, and with greater experience and training may provide support and mentorship to new staff, students and other healthcare professionals
