Summary
About the role:
To be responsible for Social Care law matters specifically in connection with Adult Services
About you:
A qualified solicitor holding a current practising certificate.
Childcare and Vulnerable Adult legal practise
Experience of providing leadership, guidance and support to colleagues and the legal team to enable effective decision making.
An excellent track record of building internal and external relationships which deliver.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills and an ability to influence outcomes with reasoning, persuasion, and tact.
Strong commitment to local government and public service
What you will do:
To undertake, provide and assist in the management of Social Care legal services, mainly adult social care to the Council.
To represent the Council in legal and quasi legal proceedings in negotiations and generally in its relations with outside bodies and the public.
To ensure robust legal management systems are in place and that all legal proceedings comply with the relevant legislative time scales.
To actively assist in the case and file management systems adopted by the Legal Services department and ensure cases are kept up to date.
