Summary


Are you a newly qualified practitioner, or an experienced Band 5?

Are you interested in gaining experience in speech, language, communication and dysphagia management as we have a great opportunity for you!



We can offer the chance to work towards gaining your RCSLT Dysphagia Competencies (Levels A & B/ foundation/proficient),developing your skills in dysphagia management and in complex speech, language and communication difficulties.



You don’t need to have previous mental health experience as we will provide comprehensive in-house training.



You will be guided in building your confidence and competence across a diverse caseload;including mental health conditions, dementia, learning disabilities, and neuro-divergent profiles.



You will work within our multidisciplinary team, including Dietitians and Physiotherapists as well as the ward staff.



You will have the opportunity to supervise speech and language therapy students, and apprentices.

Physical Health Allied Health ProfessionsTeam works within mental health units with patients who present with an acute mental health crisis. Patients who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act are admitted to mental health hospitals for a period of assessment and treatment of their mental health diagnosis. During their admission the AHP Team are able to offer support with their physical health concerns.



The successful candidate would be able to:

· Able to work independently in own designated caseload

· Able to manage timekeeping, caseload and travel around sites (if necessary)

· Be an active part of the team, including SLTs, Physio and Dietetics, and support the needs of the team.

· To provide care across the three boroughs covered by the Trust which are Ealing, Hounslow, and Hammersmith and Fulham.

· To contribute to the multi-professional training within the Trust.

· To contribute to service development initiatives e.g. QI projects.

· Work collaboratively with a wide MDT
