About the Role:
We’re looking for Chemistry specialists who can teach across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and ideally up to A-Level, though we also have roles available that focus on KS3 and KS4 only. You will be responsible for delivering well-structured, engaging lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum, helping students understand core Chemistry concepts and prepare for their exams with confidence.
As a subject expert, you will bring science to life through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on learning—encouraging your pupils to question the world around them, think critically, and develop a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (if applicable)
• Adapt teaching styles and materials to suit a range of student abilities
• Prepare, mark, and assess coursework and examinations to monitor student progress
• Create a positive, respectful classroom environment that promotes achievement and curiosity
• Support pupils with special educational needs or English as an additional language
• Collaborate with department colleagues to plan lessons and share resources
• Uphold school policies and contribute positively to school culture and development
• Use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to inspire students and raise attainment
What We're Looking For:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
• Have a subject specialism in Chemistry
• Demonstrate recent experience teaching Chemistry in a UK secondary school (ideally including GCSE or A-Level)
• Be confident in classroom and behaviour management, with the ability to create a productive learning atmosphere
• Display excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Have a real passion for education and the ability to build meaningful rapport with students
• Possess a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Link3 Recruitment
