This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in Broadmoor Hospital.



In 2019, we moved into the new hospital, whichprovides a modern, state-of-the-art, high secure facility for patients from across London and southern England that meets national and local policy requirements. The environment is safe and secure in relation to protection of the public, visitors, staff and patients.It is designed to maximise the delivery of modern clinical care.



We are seeking a forensic psychiatrist who is enthusiastic, is focussed on providing high quality care for patients, hasproven clinical and leadership skills and is able to manage highly complex patients in a high secure setting. In recognition of the skills required, the post attracts a pro rata £21678 annual recruitment and retention payment.



There are opportunities for research and engagement in quality improvement projects and for career development.

The main duties of the role include; being the Responsible Clinician for patients on one of our ISAT (increased support and assertive treatment) wards, providing clinical leadership to your multidisciplinary team/teams, being a clinical supervisor (training provided), participating in a non resident on call, carrying out assessments of patients referred to the service, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and engaging in quality improvement and audit projects.
