Summary

We are looking for a driven Packaging Technologist to join a global independent soft drinks manufacturer with 78 manufacturing sites worldwide including 6 sites in the UK based in Bridgewater (TA6).

- Salary up to £45,000 per annum
- Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 & Friday 08:00 – 15:30 (38 hours per week)
- Permanent role, will consider both full-time and part time candidates

As a Packaging Technologist, you’ll take a hands-on role within a 4-person implementation team supporting the launch of packaging formats across a wide portfolio of juices, carbonates and energy drinks.

Working alongside the Implementation Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll lead packaging trials and validate new formats, materials and equipment. You’ll also proactively solve packaging issues raised on the production floor, influence sustainability improvements, and ensure all solutions meet compliance, legal and consumer standards.


Ideally you will be an experienced Packaging Technologist / Engineer in a food, beverage, pharmaceutical or FMCG environment. strong understanding of packaging trials, documentation and cross-functional coordination. Understanding of HACCP, GMP, SOPs and food legislation, and is a clear and concise communicator who can challenge the status quo


Packaging Technologist: Key responsibilities

- Planning and executing packaging trials, documenting outcomes and ensuring readiness for launch
- Supporting the creation of SOPs, HACCP updates and risk assessments
- Investigating post-launch packaging issues, identifying root cause and implementing CAPA
- Working across departments including NPD, Quality, Engineering and Planning to align implementation
- Participating in change control, supplier qualification and continuous improvement initiatives
- 70% working onsite with some occasional travel to suppliers.
