Part Time Personal Assistant

Job Description
Hours: 13 hours per week
Hours based on:
11am to 3pm Tuesdays & Thursdays, and 7 9:30pm Tuesday evenings (from Autumn 2025 when choir starts back up)
Plus one Saturday monthly trip to London or further afield for theatre with the full allowance of 13 hours used (matinee or evening, depending on PAs agreement and availability of tickets)
Rate: £12.60 per hour but will consider self-employed basis.
Job purpose:
To support a bright, outgoing 34-year-old wheelchair user in maintaining an active, fulfilling social life, I love theatre and the arts (I have a theatre blog and podcast), live music, dinner with friends, quality time with my family, writing creatively, and reading. I would love support finding new hobbies to try and establish new friendships. Due to the intimate nature of personal care required at times, female applicants are preferred.
Work Duties may include:
Element of personal care (toileting) when out and about if Changing Places are available, or after outings, and supporting with the evening routine after London trips. (toileting and bed)
Driving me to and from appointments/social activities (I have my own vehicle that is wheelchair accessible
Running errands shopping for personal items, etc.
Support during social activities, including: entering buildings/setting up at premises or home, taking coat on & off, reaching things at height, packing/unpacking
Other requirements:
Ability to undertake personal care as well as practical support experience with manual handling and hoists desirable but training can be given
Confident driver with clean licence, and familiarity with WAVs.
Working safely and highlighting health and safety concerns
Assisting with management of employers health risks
Establish and maintain effective communication
Maintaining confidentiality
Location and additional information:
Within the employers home in BS3 and the local area
5.6 weeks of annual leave per year
Friendly and flexible employer
Urgent start so interview guaranteed if suitable
