The Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading is looking to appoint a researcher with software development experience to support the development and evaluation of numerical weather prediction of precipitation during the South Asian monsoon in collaboration with the Met Office and research organisations across India.

You will have :

- PhD in a mathematics- or physics-based science or equivalent research experience, or near completion
- Knowledge of software development quality principles, e.g. version control, github collaboration, documentation and testing
- Experience of developing software for external users, e.g. clients or collaborators
- Ability to collaborate constructively and proactively with both internal and external colleagues
