Summary

Whitehaven Community Trust have a fantastic part-time job opportunity available, for a Support Worker, and we are assisting them to find the perfect candidate.

The trust is committed to ensuring young people in times of crisis are safe and supported and with their hard working support staff guiding them and building them up they strive to promote independent living and confidence.

If you are motivated, organised, confident, have emotional resilience and you are able to use a computer, then this could be the perfect job for you. It’s working 16 hours per week which can include weekends and bank holidays. Shift patterns are 1:00pm till 10.00pm and 1:00pm to 8.00pm.

Your job will be to provide advice, information and support services to single homeless young women and men aged 18yrs to 28yrs.

There will be training and support available to help you settle into your new role.

You will gain a lot of job satisfaction in this role whilst making a real difference to people’s lives.

Your new job:
Liaise with service users and book appointments.
Support service users with registering and bidding on Choice Based Lettings and signposting to relevant services.
Support service users with benefits/funds/debt solutions and budgeting.
Support service users with direct payments to WCT for service charge/ rent payments.
Make sure all communal areas within projects are clean, hoovering and general tidying when needed.
Voiding room/properties for new move ins.
Maintain safety and security within the project.
Liaise with outside organisations and security agencies to support service users.
Collection of food.
Attend team meetings.
Send shift reports every day of tasks achieved to management.

About you:
A people person.
Self- motivated.
Confident.
Organised.
Able to use a computer.
A team player who can also work on own initiative.
Ability to motivate others and promote positivity.
Has DBS (or willing to go through the application process).
