Job Overview
A General Duty Nurse is responsible for delivering excellent care to their patients, being organised and providing support to the medical team in a healthcare facility. They must use their clinical judgment and care for patients throughout all stages of illness. The General Duty Nurse ensures a comfortable environment for all patients, providing physical and emotional support and helping each patient to reach their maximum level of health. General Duty Nurse Responsibilities & Duties
• Monitor and record patient vital signs
• Assist inpatient rehabilitation and recovery activities
• Provide wound care and post-surgical care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Assist with diagnostic tests and interpret results
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement patient care plans
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform basic life-saving measures
• Ensure a clean and safe healthcare environment
General Duty Nurse Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Specialised certification in areas such as emergency or critical care
• Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities
• Experience in a specific medical field relevant to the hiring facility
• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency in medical software and equipment usage
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
