Randstad Education is actively seeking skilled and caring Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to fill flexible supply positions in a range of primary schools across Wakefield.
About the Role:
In this position, you will be a crucial figure in the school lives of children with additional needs. Your primary goal will be to foster their academic and personal growth, ensuring they have the same opportunities as their peers. Key duties include:

Collaborating closely with teaching staff to modify and tailor activities to meet individual student requirements.

Providing one-to-one or small-group tuition to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Helping to cultivate a nurturing, safe, and accepting classroom atmosphere.

Employing proven techniques to de-escalate situations and support students' emotional well-being.

Assisting in observing and recording student progress to inform future support strategies.
Our Ideal Candidate:

Has demonstrable experience working with children with SEND (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Possesses a genuinely caring, patient, and understanding nature.

Shows the resilience and composure to handle complex and sometimes difficult situations.

Has the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service or is willing to process a new one.
