Summary
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you can make a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Join a dedicated team of professionals at an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Leicestershire, which supports pupils aged 4 to 16.
As a Full-time Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers to provide individualised support and guidance to students with SEMH needs. You will help to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials to meet the needs of individual students
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students to develop social and emotional skills
- Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
- Supporting students during break times and lunch times, promoting positive social interactions and ensuring their safety and well-being
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
- A strong commitment to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude towards working with students with challenging behaviours
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable)
