Summary
The CAMHS Disability Service is a well-established part of Community CAMHS, and offers a wide range of care pathways (0-18 years; moderate to profound LD, ASD and ADHD as well as physical disabilities) including specialist therapeutic interventions, neurodevelopmental assessments with post-diagnostic support, MDT and group interventions, duty and initial assessments and brief, focused interventions for autism. Systemic and relational models form the basis for much of our work, alongside behavioural techniques and a variety of specialist, evidence based approaches. Referrals are diverse, reflecting our local community which we are proud to serve.
Due to all assistants getting on to training, an exciting opportunity has arisen for two assistant psychologists to join the CAMHS Disability Service at the Hackney Ark to co-ordinate diagnostic assessment clinics and complete supervised diagnostic assessments as well as co-ordinate post diagnostic support and deliver Early Bird groups. We are aforward thinking, passionate team supporting children and young people with disability and their families.
There are 2 full-time, permeant roles. If you are motivated and enthusiastic to work in CAMHS in the context of assessment and group work in ASD/ADHD/LD, in a multi diverse and partnership delivery model, within an outstanding NHS organisation, these are ideal positions to apply for.
The post holder will:
• Contribute to ASD ADHD assessments both with/with out LD
• Hold own assessment and group caseload for clinical supervision
• Support and coordinate CAMHS clinics, plan and organise the group schedule in advance, utilising administration
• Support clinical work of qualified staff in relation to diagnostic assessment e.g. reports, outcome measures and group interventions, develop clinical resources
• Deliver evidence based post diagnostic group work and maintain a database for group-work and workshops as appropriate
• Liaise closely with the designated Clinical Lead, MDT and Psychology assistants for ASD
• Assist with research projects; audit activities and teaching. Undertake activities appropriate to the post, under the guidance of the line manager.
• Be part of a CAMHS Service, involved in all team activities as appropriate e.g. Duty
• Maintain clear records of referrals management and all clinical activity (RiO)
• Plan and organise own workload under guidance from the supervisor and complete administrative tasks as necessary, work flexibly to support clinical work.
• Undertake personal development activities appropriate to the post, under the guidance of the line manager.
