Gardener & Landscape Team MemberJoin our dedicated Grounds Maintenance team at one of the most iconic estates in the country. The Trustees of the Chatsworth Settlement are looking for a skilled and passionate Gardener & Landscape Team Member to help maintain the stunning gardens, parkland, and wider landscape at Bolton Abbey.About the Role:You’ll be part of a small but experienced team responsible for preserving and enhancing the historic beauty of this extraordinary estate. Your work will vary from lawn care and hedge cutting to planting and path maintenance. The role is hands-on, outdoors, and physically active throughout the year, set across a range of beautiful landscapes.Key Responsibilities:Maintain gardens, meadows, and parkland to high horticultural standards.Hedge cutting, grass cutting, strimming, and edging.Planting and aftercare of trees, shrubs, and perennials.Estate maintenance including path upkeep, litter picking, fencing, and drain care.Interact positively with estate visitors, occasionally assisting with informal talks or tours.Maintain tools and equipment, adhering to all health and safety procedures.Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.About You:Essential:Minimum 2 years' experience in amenity horticulture or landscape maintenance.Full UK driving licence.Excellent practical skills using a range of horticultural tools and machinery.High attention to detail and a passion for working outdoors.Positive, proactive approach and good communication skills.Desirable:Relevant horticultural or landscape qualifications.PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates.NPTC Tractor Driving Certificate.Interest in historic gardens and heritage landscapes.Comfortable engaging with the public.Computer literate.Why Join Us?This is a rare opportunity to work in a nationally significant landscape as part of a supportive and professional team.
