This is an opportunity for a consultant to join the GI Endoscopy team at Mid and South Essex NHS Trust to support our expanding workforce and contribute to the development of our large Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

The role will specialise in all aspects of luminal GI endoscopy including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and EMR. An interest in Bowel Cancer Screening would be advantageous. Some weekend and cross site working within Mid and South Essex will be expected in line with job plan discussions.

You will work alongside the established endoscopists to support provision of endoscopy services in line with JAG standards.

You will be expected to perform independent endoscopy lists, train other endoscopists and support clinical governance duties within endoscopy including vetting and triage of referrals, clinical audit and other duties in line with the MSE endoscopy strategy.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake teaching duties of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff and other professional groups (such as nursing and pharmacy).

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust
