Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Care Leavers Service, as a Fixed Term Team Manager for Care Leavers. The position is Fixed Term until March 2026, potential to extend, for 1 FTE (37 hours) per week Monday to Friday.
A 3.2% pay increase has been agreed for the 2025/2026 financial year by the National Joint Council which the current rate of pay does not reflect. This new rate will be paid in September payroll, with any backdated pay processed accordingly. Once implemented, the updated salary for this role will be between £ 48,071 and £54,994 per annum.
About you
As the Team Manager, you will ensure the provision of quality, professional practice in relation to high-risk complex matters and the management of a team of Personal Advisors to ensure the needs of Cared for Children and Care Leavers are met.

You will have:
• An understanding of Cared for Children, in particular working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, and Care Leavers.
• An understanding of Transitions to Adulthood.
• Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
• Experience of supervising and managing a team of people.
• An ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines, responding to immediate concerns.
• A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East's rural nature.

You will work in partnership with colleagues across the service and with other agencies to ensure that Cared for Children and Care Leavers receive timely, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed interventions and support when they need it.

The successful candidate will have:
• The ability to lead a team.
• Exceptional organisational skills.
• The ability to supervise and track progress effectively, with a keen focus on building capacity within teams to meet the needs of our looked after children and care leavers.
• Strong relationship and communication skills.
• A passion for delivering high-quality care and able to collaborate with partner agencies.
