Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head of Audiology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiologist to join us. Along with the Head of Audiology, based at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality care for our patients.
Reporting operationally to the Head of Audiology, the post holder will be responsible for the professional practice and delivery of the whole range of the Audiology services. They will work with the team members in building strong cross-professional relationships and networks internally and externally. They will undertake advanced clinical/professional duties carrying out testing on patients.
The postholder should be a registered Clinical Scientist or Audiologist, registered with the HCPC or AHCS.
• To deputise for the Head of Audiology in day-to-day operational issues.
• To take an active role in research and lead on designated service development projects.
• To have oversight of all sections of clinical Audiology under the overall responsibility of the Head of Audiology.
• To undertake advanced audiological or vestibular clinical testing, interpretation and reporting in clinical audiology. To provide advanced auditory/vestibular rehabilitation of patients with complex hearing loss or balance problems.
• Responsible for day-to-day management of all areas of Audiology
• To line manage staff up to and including Band 7 level.
• To keep abreast of national and international developments in Audiology to ensure the department remains at the forefront of Audiology service provision.
• To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate the values of the organisation.
