These are challenging times and you will play an important part in delivering our ambitious plans.

As a forward-thinking and energetic local authority, we value the contribution all colleagues make.

We are looking for an individual with an interest in pursuing a career in accountancy with a willingness to work towards the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification (AAT).

The role will provide assistance to the Accountancy team, with involvement in a variety of tasks from input and retrieval of information to/from the Council’s Financial Management System, to assisting in the closedown of the Council’s year end accounts.

Reporting to our Finance Business Partner, you will be a good team player and have the ability to work accurately and methodically to achieve good results and provide support to the Accountancy team.

The Accountancy team are based at Burnley Town Hall, with the option for some remote working. After an initial office-based training period, the successful candidate will be expected to work on-site for a minimum of three days per week.
