Role – Social Worker (Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services)
Location – GCHSCP, Gorbals Health Centre, 2 Sandiefield Road, Glasgow, G5 9AB
Contract Status – Permanent

Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant City and excellent opportunities exist to join us and contribute towards helping our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, recovery focussed individual that displays the ability to manage change and risk to join our team within Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services (ADRS). ADRS provides a comprehensive, integrated approach to supporting individuals affected by alcohol and drug use. We deliver a wide range of care, treatment, and recovery support for people living in Glasgow who are affected by substance use.

The successful candidate will be part of an integrated health and social care team, within the South locality of Glasgow ADRS and will manage a caseload of service users with complex needs.

They will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team, assessing, care planning and supporting service users and will be responsible for statutory based work including Adult Support and Protection and be critical in building relationships with service users and their families.

Applicants must either possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
