Summary
Grade hourly rate dependent on age, plus tool allowance
- 16-17 £7.55
- 18-20 £10.00
- 21+ £12.21
Contract: Apprentice Two Year Fixed Term Contract.
Essential Requirements - GCSE Maths and English (4-9, or A*-C) or level 2 functional skills (or expected to achieve by September 2025) or must commit to achieving within the duration of the apprenticeship.
Applicants must not already hold a level 2 Land Based Service Engineer qualification (or similar) at the same level or above.

The Role:
To undertake an apprenticeship in being a service engineer for plant and horticultural equipment, to learn new skills, knowledge and gain experiences in this field. Work as part of a team to ensure all our equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career within the Plant and Horticultural equipment industry. We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Horticultural Plant Fitter.
As an apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to maintain and repair plant vehicles and equipment such as tractors, ride on mowers, and other plant machinery. You will have the opportunity to gain experience whilst studying towards an industry standard recognised qualification in Horticultural and plant engineering.
About You:
Willing to put in the study work to achieve and to travel to different locations within the Authority, attending college as required.
To work in a safe manner and to have a flexible approach to work requirements. Some all-weather working is required within this role, so expect to work in the cold and wet at times.
This is a development role, in which you will be expected to meet levels set by your tutor or mentor. Must be a team player and be able to work with others, as a member of the workshop team.
