This is a Hybrid Working role with a requirement to attend our PFW International Hub in Coventry a minimum of three days per week, with flexibility required in line with business needs. There will also be occasional Domestic and International Travel.

As Senior Commercial Customs Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our customs strategy and operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Customs, you’ll champion a high-performing team to ensure robust compliance and unlock commercial opportunities within our customs function.
This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to influence the future of our business. We’re looking for someone with proven managerial experience, ideally in a fast-paced, regulated environment. While customs expertise—particularly in the parcel sector—is a strong advantage, we’re most interested in your ability to lead, inspire, and deliver results.
About the role Communication Effectiveness:o Develop and implement communication strategies that ensure clarity and alignment throughout the Customs Bureau regarding changes and updates.
Team Development:o Promote individual growth and performance by conducting regular one-on-one meetings, fostering feedback, and supporting team members in achieving their professional goals.
Training Management:o Maintain a comprehensive training matrix that reflects current needs, ensuring that training programs are relevant, timely, and effectively delivered.
Stakeholder Engagement:o Establish and nurture relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of customs team-related changes.
Performance Monitoring:o Oversee the performance metrics from the Customs Bureau, utilising data to inform training needs and operational improvements.
Reporting and Analytics:o Develop and present reports that track operational trends, identify areas for process improvement, and support strategic decision-making within the department.
Regulatory Compliance:o Ensure that all new customs regulations are seamlessly integrated into existing processes, with clearly defined training requirements to support compliance.
About you We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Customs Senior Manager to lead our Customer Bureau team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing teams. Key responsibilities include managing people, stakeholder engagement, project management, and developing training.
Essential
- Extensive leadership and management experience
- Proven track record of successfully leading medium-large teams
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across functions, including compliance, IT, legal, and commercial teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focused on delivering effective business solutions
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Customs or International Trade
- Thorough understanding of express parcel and postal customs obligations
- Experience in customs management, emphasising stakeholder engagement
- Experience with government entities and unions
- In-depth understanding of global customs regulations, compliance standards, and trade laws
