Summary

Job Title: Surveyor – Property Damage Assessment
Location: South London
Rate: £250 per day
Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to join a leading reinstatement team operating across South London. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in assessing damage to residential and commercial properties caused by insured perils such as fire, flood, or impact.

As a Surveyor, you will play a key role in producing accurate and detailed schedules of reinstatement works, ensuring that all repairs are scoped in line with company standards for quality, compliance, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys to assess damage and identify any pre-existing conditions or health & safety risks.


  • Prepare detailed reinstatement schedules using Xactimate, including from desktop assessments and technician reports.


  • Accurately document site information including measurements, photographs, and any special considerations.


  • Collaborate with internal teams to clarify survey findings and contribute to effective project planning.


  • Review and approve variation requests from trades and subcontractors.


  • Ensure all health & safety documentation (including CPP and RAMs) is completed in accordance with company policies.


  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in internal systems (Teams, Handyman).


    Requirements:
    • Proven experience as a Surveyor in property damage or insurance-related reinstatement.


    • Strong technical knowledge of building repair methods and materials.


    • Proficiency with Xactimate and experience conducting both on-site and desktop surveys.


    • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.


    • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.


    • Health & Safety awareness and familiarity with relevant documentation standards.
