Job Summary:
Our client, a world leading manufacturer of fixed-wing High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) is looking for an experienced Production Planner/Material Planner who will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling all aspects of the production process within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
This position requires proficiency in ERP systems for tracking production orders, inventory, and forecasting demand. The ideal candidate will have experience with aerospace manufacturing processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure efficient and timely production.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling & Planning:
• Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability.
• Use ERP System to create, update, and manage production orders, work orders, and material requisitions.
• Monitor production capacity and ensure the efficient use of resources, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
Inventory Management:
• Track inventory levels, manage raw materials, and coordinate the movement of goods to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Use D365 to manage material requirements planning (MRP), ensuring the timely procurement of parts and materials.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Generate production reports using D365 to track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover.
• Analyse historical data and demand trends to forecast future production needs and optimise schedules.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure materials and components meet the required specifications.
• Act as a liaison between the production floor and management to communicate production status, potential delays, and resource constraints.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and recommend improvements to the production process, helping to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, applying best practices for waste reduction and resource optimisation.
Experience & Experience:
• Experience in Production Planning/Material Planning ESSENTIAL
• In-depth knowledge of production processes, ERP/MRP, and supply chain management
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
