We are currently inviting applications for the exciting role of Street Works Officer within the Roads Service at Falkirk Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to coordinate road works in Falkirk Council.

About the Role
As the Street Works Officer, you’ll be responsible for the management and coordination of all road works within Falkirk Council. You will be required to respond to emerging issues, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and maintaining the highest standards of public service.

Due to the high-profile nature of this service, your work will be subject to regular public scrutiny. This makes the role both challenging and rewarding — your ability to lead flexibly and respond to community needs will help maintain public confidence in our essential services.

What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant qualification such as an HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of road works
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991 and other relevant legislation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body
