Summary

Contract Personnel are currently recruiting for General Operatives/Fork Lift Drivers based in the outskirts of Norwich. Own transport is essential due to site location.

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable General Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence to join our team in a busy metal coating facility. The role involves general labouring duties, loading/unloading metal components, moving materials using a forklift, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our metal finishing processes.

Duties and responsibilities:

Forklift Operations: Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load/unload deliveries, move metal products, and supply materials to production areas.
Manual Handling: Assist in the preparation, hanging, and movement of metal parts through various coating and finishing stages.
General Labouring: Support production tasks such as masking, jigging, packing, wrapping, and basic assembly work.
Quality Control: Check items for defects or coating quality and report any issues to the team leader.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including sweeping, waste disposal, and equipment care.
Health & Safety: Adhere to all site safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Any other duties as required

Responsibilities:

Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (RTITB or ITSSAR recognised) – essential.
• Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of metalwork or coating processes (preferred but not essential).
• Physically fit and able to lift and handle metal components.
• Good attention to detail and awareness of health & safety procedures.

Shift pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 22:00 - 06:00
