Summary
Pretoria Energy is an ambitious, rapid-growth, renewable energy business at the forefront of globally relevant green biotechnologies.
Our Operator team is growing, to support continued business growth and development of specialist green-energy, anaerobic digestion technologies in conjunction with Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation, bio-methane production and carbon capture.
The Role:
Our team of A.D. Plant Operators are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the smooth running of our Anaerobic Digestion (A.D.) plants.
The work is varied and interesting and will have a direct responsibility on productivity. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same.
• Close monitoring of all plant processes, including visual inspection & PLC monitoring; fine tuning to maximise the performance.
• Report to Production Manager daily.
• Basic maintenance on all plant components, as per manufacturer manual for each component.
• Daily recording and checklist as required by Production Manager.
• Monitor environmental activities. Be familiar with drainage systems and leachate and digestate control.
• Ensure that any plant issues are identified and reported to Production Manager.
• Report to Production Manager daily.
• Monitor site security, be aware of site visitors (sign-in/out) and any unauthorised personnel.
• Working on a 4-on/4-off day-shift pattern with 12-hour shifts
• Operating plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts.
• Assist with loading, unloading & housekeeping
• Assist Engineering team when necessary to make repairs quick and efficient.
• Ad-hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the business
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements as per Health & Safety policy.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Successful candidates will be hands on with a good attitude and a desire to learn and develop a rewarding, long-term career. You will be reliable with a positive attitude and able to demonstrate your ability to manage your workload effectively, to work independently, methodically and in a timely manner as part of a team. You must be prepared and able to work in an industrial/agricultural environment, mainly outdoors. Training will be given in all aspects of the role.
Experience:
Essential experience:
• Good all-round industrial / agricultural experience
• Confident with computers
• Mechanical awareness and confidence around industrial plant machinery
• Driving plant machinery - Tele-handler / forklift ticket
• Full UK driving licence
• Full right to work in the UK
Desirable experience:
• AD Plant experience ideal but not essential
