Summary

The role:

My client is seeking a professional to take full responsibility for all aspects of glazing and firing production. This role focuses on maintaining high quality standards and meeting key performance indicators related to output, yield, and right-first-time performance.Key responsibilities include delivering production plans, managing resources effectively, monitoring both team and automation performance, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld.

You will also oversee departmental Team Leaders, supporting their development through training, clear communication, and leadership. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth coordination between the department and the wider business to maintain efficient production operations.

Main duties:

Develop and execute production schedules aligned with customer deadlines and order requirements
Assess and allocate necessary resources, including staff, equipment, and materials, for efficient production cycles
Track day-to-day production activities and make real-time adjustments to maintain output targets
Oversee workflow, coordinating people and materials to maintain smooth, efficient operations
Manage stock levels by ordering raw materials and ensuring timely inventory replenishment
Supervise equipment upkeep and coordinate timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions
Uphold product quality by ensuring compliance with established specifications and standards
Conduct process checks to detect and resolve any quality-related concerns promptly.
Promote and enforce health and safety practices, maintaining a secure workplace for all team members
Guide and manage production staff, including onboarding, training, and ongoing development
Collaborate with departments such as planning, engineering, and QA to streamline processes
Address operational issues and employee concerns, promoting a positive and productive work environment
Monitor and manage the production area's budget, ensuring efficient use of financial resources
Drive cost-reduction initiatives and process improvements to enhance productivity
Analyse and report on production data, tracking KPIs and identifying performance trends
Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Provide updates to senior management on operational performance and key challenges
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production environment
Liaise with suppliers to confirm timely delivery of quality raw materials and components

Proven ability to achieve planned production and yield targets while maintaining efficiency
Strong focus on cost control, ensuring operations stay within agreed budgets
