JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY CBC Workforce Solutions Flexible Workforce Hub is recruiting Nursing Associates who have experience working in general practice. As a Nursing Associate, you will support GP practices in Gateshead on a sessional basis during practice opening hours undertaking tasks as required in surgery such as assisting and supporting the clinical team, undertaking clinical tasks signposting patients as required. You can choose shifts from a number of practices who we represent in Gatesheads Primary Care Network via our online rota system. Shifts are on a sessional basis, during practice opening hours. We are a new team who believe in recruiting locally, to build stronger relationships with our partners and patients. We have a dedicated team based in Team Valley who will support applicants with the application and any training required. 6. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Qualified Nursing Associate with NMC registration Patient facing work experience in general practice is essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work as part of a team Excellent organisational skills and time management Ability to work autonomously Experience of clinical decision making in line with registration Experience of undertaking cervical screening Experience of Long Term Condition management Experience of administering childhood and seasonal immunisations Experience of undertaking clinical tasks - including ECGs, sutural removal and venepuncture Experience of undertaking and accurately recording observations such as height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and pulse Experience of wound care Knowledge and understanding of health promotion within primary care7. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the practice team with hands-on, person-centred care of patients as part of the wider nursing team Work independently under leadership of registered nurses within NMC Code of Conduct Undertaking cervical screening Measure and interpret blood glucose levels Meet the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care Advise and support patients with health promotion and lifestyle advice Support patient and their families and carers through diagnosis and treatment Recognise changing priorities seeking advice and guidance from the Practice Nurse or other relevant registered healthcare professional as appropriate. Handle sensitive and confidential information Ensuring the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times Use of clinical IT systems, and maintaining accurate patient records Monitor and manage maintenance of stock Recognise and report issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults8. CONFIDENTIALITY In the course of their work the hub member may have access to confidential information relating to the company, its staff, stakeholders, and patients. All such information must be treated as highly confidential, and any breach will be subject to disciplinary action. In addition, the nature of this role may mean that the post holder also has access to information regarding local general practices and this should also be treated as confidential. 9.COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Excellent communication skills with all staff including: - Practice Managers and Partners - Practice Team Leads - Flexible Workforce Hub Team (CBC Workforce Solutions) - Local general practices 10. PERSONAL AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: The hub member will participate in any training implemented by CBC Workforce Solutions as part of their contract and professional development. 11. WORKING CONDTIONS Frequent use of VDU Occasionally exposed to verbal/violence and aggression Face to face direct patient Remote clinical assessment/patient contact Working autonomously Working as part of a team Remote working/need to drive to work across locations Regular interruptions when concentrating Competing priorities - time constraints Frequent interruptions/changes in requests May need to move around 1 or more facility frequently 12.
