Summary
We are excited to be recruiting a brand-new role for a growing manufacturing business while they establish their newest office site locally. This is a permanent role based in Dursley, with growth plans for the near future where they can expect someone to grow with the business.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting financial activities and will be responsible for forecasting, financial planning, budgeting, variance analysis, performance reporting and financial process improvement. In addition to this, you will be asked to assist with costing/pricing for new/prototype products.
You will have the support of a remote Accountant/Financial Controller as well as an on-site Bookkeeper and will be offered a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in office/2 days WFH. There may be times where fully remote work will be offered to allow for upcoming office renovations.
Responsibilities
- Build short- and long-term financial models.
- Develop cash flow forecasts to ensure the upcoming financial obligations are met.
- Prepare revenue, expense, and profit forecasts aligned with growth plans and investor expectations.
- Create financial proposals/decks for investor updates and fundraising rounds.
- Translate complex financial information into investor-friendly KPIs and metrics
- Analyse funding needs and model various funding scenarios (equity, debt, SAFE notes).
- Lead pricing analysis for prototypes going to market including cost-based, competitor-based, and value-based pricing.
- Work with product and manufacturing teams to define cost per unit, gross margin, and break-even volume.
- Run what-if pricing models to help leadership determine optimal pricing strategies for early products.
- Track and report on key metrics: revenue, gross margin, customer acquisition costs, etc.
- Perform variance analysis: compare actuals vs. forecast and explain discrepancies.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Partner with directors and wider teams to align financial goals with product development and go-to-market plans.
- Evaluate financial impact of decisions such as marketing spend, hiring plans, or production volumes.
- Assist in defining ‘Objectives and Key Results’ that align financial targets with broader company goals.
- Build scenario models to show how changes in pricing, demand, or costs affect cash flow and profitability.
- Help leadership understand risk through sensitivity analyses.
- Help define financial systems and processes (e.g., budgeting cadence, internal reporting).
- Support early ERP/financial software selections or integrations if necessary.
- Assist in setting up cost tracking for R&D, manufacturing, and logistics.
- Build models to evaluate cost of scaling production (e.g., initial tooling vs. mass production).
- Forecast inventory needs, production timelines, and related working capital requirements.
- Estimate COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), shipping, and fulfilment costs to ensure financial sustainability at scale.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (hybrid working offered)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience + benefits including free parking, ongoing team support, hybrid working flexibility and further benefits to be defined once in post.
