We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Endpoint Management Solution Architect who is ready for a new and exciting challenge.



The Opportunity:



We are looking for a knowledgeable, pro-active and well-rounded solution architect with experience of delivering services at scale to complex IT environments. The successful candidate will be leading and contributing to projects delivering the Supported Desktop Service at the University of Edinburgh.



The Supported Desktop is a core service for all staff and students at the University of Edinburgh who use software applications on their personal computers. This currently extends to approximately 20,000 endpoints, providing services to over 15,000 staff and 50,000 students and offers hundreds of managed applications for use in teaching and learning. The post-holder will provide technical leadership and coordinate the work of other team members on technical development projects which benefit the entire University population.



To be successful in this role, you will have expert knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM or Intune), be familiar with service management frameworks like ITIL and have substantial experience in providing an IT services in a large organisation.



You will have significant exposure to working with senior decision makers to ensure the effective delivery of services, and be comfortable communicating to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.



Your skills and attributes for success:

Experience of providing high- level technical support
Experience in large-scale endpoint administration
Proven ability to accurately assess risks and provide advice to colleagues at all levels
Proven ability to influence change and to lead, manage, and motivate others
Experience of working with senior decision makers and decision-making processes
Evidence of excellent organisational skills, written and oral communication skills, and inter-personal relationship development.

The University of Edinburgh is a vibrant campus-based university so the post-holder will be expected to work on-site regularly; The Desktop Service Section is currently operating in a hybrid capacity with a 2:3 ratio of in-office and remote home-working. This is subject to change in line with Scottish Government guidance and University policy.
