Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

Are you ready to take the lead in a role that keeps our spaces spotless, our members safe, and our standards sky-high?

At Leeds University Union (LUU), we’re on the lookout for a proactive, hands-on Cleaning Manager to join our Building Operations team. You’ll play a vital role in delivering a clean, safe and welcoming environment for over 38,000 students, all while leading a dedicated team that takes pride in doing things the right way.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is no ordinary cleaning role. You’ll manage a team, maintain high standards, champion safety compliance, and help us deliver a first-class service across our iconic building. It’s a role for someone who doesn’t just care about getting the job done, but getting it done exceptionally well.

Who You Are

You’re someone with solid experience in cleaning and waste management, who thrives in a busy environment and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves. You're detail-driven, safety-conscious, and know how to lead by example. You’re also a people person – someone who brings positivity, energy, and high standards every day.

And most of all, you live and breathe our values: inclusive, empowering, and fun.

Why Join LUU?

Aside from working in one of the most vibrant, student-focused organisations in the UK, you’ll also enjoy:

A generous holiday allowance of 26 days per year, 14.5 Bank Holidays and extra Union closure days…plus the option to buy extra holiday.

NUS TOTUM discount card, onsite staff discounts and discounted travel card.

Extensive learning and development opportunities - we believe that to be the best organisation we can be, all our people should be able to learn new skills and develop themselves whilst they work for us.

And that’s not to mention the incredible culture. Our people consistently say it’s the best thing about working here – a supportive, diverse, and empowering team where you can truly be yourself. Read about our commitment to being an anti-racist organisation.
