JOB DESCRIPTION
Base: Youth and Community Centre, Park Avenue, Louth
Title: Support Worker to YMCA led “Open Door” youth sessions
Hours: 3 hours per week (School term times; Fridays 17.45-20.45)
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Job Purpose: To support the YMCA rural youth work team in the planning, preparation and delivery of the sessions.
To ensure the needs of young people are identified and met by developing relevant initiatives and encouraging repeat attendance.
To ensure that young people can socialise and have fun in a safe environment.
To ensure Equal Opportunities underpins all aspects of the projects which spring from differences in age, culture, race, language, sexual identity, gender, disability, religion and class.
To ensure all other Centre policies and procedures are adhered to.
Key tasks: To work directly with young people attending the YMCA “Open Door” session.
To ensure Community Plus and YMCA Lincolnshire safeguarding policies and procedures are followed, reporting any issues as necessary.
To be flexible in the hours worked, there may be some sessions during school holidays.
To observe and contribute towards risk assessments as required, reporting any issues as necessary.
To follow nightly procedures, ensuring that all paperwork is completed, security of the building and safety of other workers are taken into consideration.
To make sure that the centre is left clean and tidy at the end of each session.
Supervision: Session supervision will be provided by the YMCA Rural Youth Work Lead with further support available from the YMCA Youth Services Manager where needed. The trustees of the Community Plus Project will be your employer.
FURTHER DETAILS
Fees: To be paid monthly on the 10th of each month. This is a contracted employment position with
statutory benefits.
Training: Further training opportunities will be identified and travel expenses covered.
References: Two references will be required.
DBS: Disclosure and Barring Service check must be made as soon as possible. This will be paid for by the Community Plus Project. You cannot commence unsupervised work with young people until this has been checked.
