The power of good for Britain.Location: London or Bristol (Office-based, with hybrid working flexibility).We operate on an office-based contract model, but support hybrid working where possible. This means you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require, typically 3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project. Flexibility to be on site when needed is essential.Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.Salary: £42,000 – £52,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.We’re recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support this unique project, as we enter critical phases across a number of our delivery programmes. Assistant Project Manager – Conventional Island (Turbine building)As part of the Conventional Island sub-programme team you will help deliver 2 x 1750 MW Arabelle Solutions turbine islands on a turnkey basis spanning design and replication, procurement, manufacturing, installation and finally commissioning all power generating equipment of the conventional island, Including opportunities to work on the development of new novel first of kind technologies.We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of this complex infrastructure project. This role is ideal for someone with a background in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical) or experience in working in large infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to ensure the safe, timely, and compliant execution of critical contracts supporting nuclear construction and commissioning. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of logistics, asset management, and supply chain strategies that are essential to the success of nuclear-grade systems and components. Key Responsibilities:Support the planning and execution of activities for the principal rotating and electrical generation equipment, and supporting systemsMonitor project progress, track actions, and drive resolution of issues through effective coordination and reporting.Support alignment of forecasts, costs, and schedules to drive efficient project delivery across multiple project phases.Contribute to technical reports and delivery of the final design through to manufacture.Identify and mitigate risks related to the successful delivery of the design and manufacture of equipment.Collaborate with other internal teams to develop and implement advanced data and documentation management tools. Who you areWe're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery in technically complex and fast-paced environments, where safety, security, and environmental responsibility are paramount. Ideally you’ll bring experience from the nuclear energy sector or another similarly regulated industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: with the ability to work across multiple project stakeholder groups and individuals.Attention to detail: ensure accuracy of data / information collection and reporting.Teamwork: collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Adaptability: work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment. The Skills: Degree qualification in an engineering, technical or project management related discipline.Evidence of experience in a project management or support role.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)You're comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary-team which is made up of Engineers or Managers from different disciplinesPreviously working experience in high safety and quality required environment such as Oil &Gas, MoDDesirablePrevious engineering or project management experience in the nuclear industry.Formal Project Management experience (such as PMP or APM qualifications or accreditation) If you are ready to help deliver some of the most complex projects in the energy sector, we’d love to hear from you!#DestinationNuclear#SZCjobs
