As both Digital Partner and/or Digital Delivery Partner we advise and assure business units and ALBs in developing their own digital capabilities, as well as taking on delivery responsibilities ourselves where relevant.
We are seeking two highly motivated and experienced Solution Architects to join our growing Architecture Services team within Cabinet Office Digital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in "Enabling and Transforming the Cabinet Office" through strategic architecture. Our vision is to serve as the authoritative blueprint for a cohesive, agile, and customer-centric digital department, fostering innovation and efficiency across the Cabinet Office.
As a Solution Architect, you will be crucial in translating strategic vision into actionable, effective enterprise change. You will bridge business requirements and technology solutions, designing multi-component solutions, and leading the technical vision for products and services. Your work will directly contribute to transforming the digital landscape from disparate systems into a cohesive, high-value ecosystem.
We are implementing a federated architecture model, balancing central strategic direction with the agility required by diverse digital delivery teams. This approach fosters innovation and provides a stable yet flexible foundation and design. The roles will involve working across various projects, enhancing integration between systems, promoting reusable architectural patterns, and contributing to the development of enterprise-wide capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the technical landscape, collaborating closely with both internal teams and external partners to deliver solutions that are not only technologically sound but also adhere to rigorous government standards for security, data, and accessibility. Your work will directly enable a more connected, efficient, and effective Civil Service by leveraging common capabilities and reducing duplication across the digital landscape.
Responsibilities
- Designing robust, secure, and efficient technical solutions that bridge business requirements and technology;
- Ensuring designs support the overall technological strategy;
- Working embedded within digital delivery teams, translating project-specific requirements into architecture, and overseeing hands-on technical implementation;
- Contributing to the development of "Golden Paths" for technology choices and establishing standards and patterns;
- For one post, focusing on interoperability across various critical projects such as the Government Skills Campus, Integration Hub, Central Employee ID, and Staff Transfers. This will involve promoting common layers of capabilities and ensuring seamless integration between systems;
- For the second post, working within the Learning Frameworks 2.0 space, supporting implementation and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver effective solutions.
