Summary
About the Role
To be part of a multi skilled engineering team to ensure the maximum effectiveness and utilisation of plant is maintained at all times.
What you’ll need
To join us as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll need:
1. Qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/ Engineering).
2. A proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment, ideally the food industry.
3. A good understanding of HACCP principles and preferably IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations.
4. Excellent communication skills
5. The ability to make important decisions on the spot.
6. A can do attitude, a strong work ethic, and ability to match the pace of our site.
As Site Engineer you will be expected:
1. To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of the plant and profitability.
2. To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety Standards.
3. Provide full emergency breakdown cover for all plant and services.
4. To carry out repair works to the highest standard.
5. Complete all work sheets and report any follow ups required, including Planned Maintenance work sheets, handover sheets.
6. Observe and report all problem areas on all plant and services
7. Work as a team with all other members of the factory team.
8. Maintain a high standard of work and promote good housekeeping throughout the factory and workshops.
9. To always ensure that Health and Safety issues are treated with the highest priority at all times.
10. Administer, monitor, analyse and update machine history data using the engineering Pirana maintenance management system.
11. Provide first line cover in all machinery problems.
12. Be proactive with ideas for improving the plant and engineering departments.
13. To ensure that all plant is running efficiently and safely.
14. Provide full back-up to all problem areas in a speedy and safe manner.
15. Full use of engineering resource as required.
16. Provide full support across the site in order to carry out all works in an efficient and economical manner.
17. Provide ideas on cost cutting measures.

Job Type:Night shift – 4 days on followed by 4 days off on a rolling basis
Hours/Shift: Each shift is 12 hours inclusive of paid breaks. Any additional hours are paid at overtime rate (x1.333). You will be paid for 48 hours each week. Additional shifts may be required during our seasonal xmas turkey campaign.
Salary: £20.59 per hour. Overtime at X1.333 for all additional hours worked over and above the 4 days on/4 days off
Reporting: Reporting into the Senior Engineering Manager
