Summary
Commissioning Support Officer
Grade: 3A SCP 20 24 (£32,597 - £35,412 - Under New Increment)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Core office hours are 8:30 to 16.30 however a flexible working scheme is in operation subject to the needs of the service
Working Location: The main team are based on the Civic Centre campus but staff are able to work from various locations and from home.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Children’s Services Commissioning Team for the post of Commissioning Support Officer. The primary purpose of this role is to offer a comprehensive support service to commissioners in Children's Placements Team
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Working with commissioners, staff from other departments in Salford City Council, partners, other agencies and providers to develop and maintain data collection and reporting systems which contribute towards benchmarking and outcomes based performance management.
- Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed financial records to support budget monitoring and timely and accurate payments to providers.
- Analysing monitoring reports and data to identify any concerns, addressing them with the provider and raising any issues with the commissioner if not resolved.
- Arranging, contributing to and taking notes of monitoring meetings ensuring that provider returns or reports are received and distributed in advance.
- Ensuring that all contract documentation in relation to commissioned services is completed
- Contributing to the production of reports and strategies.
- Working with providers to offer support and guidance in relation to performance including undertaking monitoring visits where required.
- Undertaking evaluations of the safeguarding standards of providers, including visiting, providing feedback and working with them until compliance is achieved.
- Supporting commissioners in vetting providers
- Collating and reporting on customer feedback
- Supporting commissioners in arranging provider forums, consultations, briefings and other events.

- The ability to work as part of a team but also to use initiative and sound judgement, responding independently to unexpected problems and situations, having due regard to the various legislation, standards and procedures within the service.
