Job Description

What Does a Care Professional Do?

As a Care Professional with Home Instead South Lakes, no two days are the same—but every day is meaningful.

Your morning might begin by helping Mr Davies start his day—supporting him to get out of bed, have a shower, and get dressed with dignity. Later, you may visit Mrs Smith to ensure she’s comfortable, has taken her medication, and enjoys a warm, nutritious lunch.

In the afternoon, you could take Mr Thompson for a gentle walk in the fresh air, or assist Mrs Williams with light housework and a bit of shopping. Sometimes, your most important role might simply be sharing a cuppa and a chat—bringing warmth, reassurance, and friendly conversation to someone’s day.

This role is about more than just tasks—it’s about building trust, offering companionship, and making a genuine difference.

What's In It For You?

Competitive Pay: Up to £16.25 per hour, and double-time on Bank Holidays.
Travel Costs Covered: Receive £13.50 for travel and wait time, plus 30p per mile mileage reimbursement.
Hours that fit your life: Work mornings, evenings, weekdays, or weekends—tailor your hours to suit.
No Rushing. One hour visits. You are always paid for the FULL hour.
Fully-funded qualifications: Earn Level 2,3 and 5 qualifications and career advancement for those that would like more!
Feel appreciated: We show our appreciation with bonuses—£250 for each successful employee referral and an additional £250 on your work anniversary and £500 if you have been with us 5 years and £1,000 for 10 years!
We pay for your MOT's and you receive a winter car kit!
Celebrate you: An extra day off on your birthday
Wellbeing Support: Free counselling and expert legal advice for you and your family.
Local Discounts: Save on your weekly shop and at dozens of your favourite online shops so you can treat yourself - you deserve it

Qualifications

No Experience? No Problem.

Whether you're retired, semi-retired, returning to work, or simply looking to make a difference, we value your life experience over professional experience. Full training is provided, and ongoing support is always available.
