Summary

Partnerships Insights & Performance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Partnerships Insights & Performance Manager. You will workwith stakeholders across the club to ensure that we have access to necessary data and analyse/display it in creative ways to inform every aspect of the Partnerships business – specifically Partner ROI assessments.

You will own the analysis, performance monitoring and optimisation of a selection of key Partners and provide relevant insights and data led narratives to the Partnership Sales team. You will be responsible for co-establishing and maintaining high quality standards across the team’s regular output and working with the team to continually develop our capabilities.

You will also be expected to support strategic and ad hoc projects, contributing your expertise and knowledge to areas where data is required to support decision-making.

The Team

The Partnerships Insight & Performance Team is responsible for the data and intelligence that informs every aspect of the club’s Partnerships business. The focus of this group is collating data from a variety of sources, making it accessible and digestible and then – most importantly – curating compelling data narratives which outline tangible ROI cases for Club Partners. The actual administration of major data sources (e.g., 1st party fan database) resides with other teams, primarily the marketing insight function, which this team has a close and complimentary working relationship with.

There are 2 primary areas where the Partnership Insight Team makes a critical contribution:

  1. Partner Performance–the team is responsible for monitoring, reporting and optimizing partner performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external data suppliers/ platforms, the team is charged with collating and organising data from a variety of sources, analysing it, and providing best-in-class reporting and advice to partners and other stakeholders.
  1. Support of Partnership Sales–the team curates a wide range of data and intelligence that supports and directs the sales process. The team is charged with identifying promising industry categories and businesses to approach. During the sales phase, the team supplies the data that underpins every element of the LFC partner proposition, while also serving as a general research resource for the sales team to access and help tell data led ROI narrtaives.

The team is closely aligned with the Partnerships Strategy function and will provide support on a variety of strategic and ad hoc projects where appropriate.


What will you be doing?

Manage the process of collecting and organizing data to support a return on investment case for club partners and sales prospects

  • Identify new data suppliers that will generate meaningful insights into Partner performance
  • Build coherent, informative and easily accessible databases and repositories for this data
  • Lead the analysis of the data to build a compelling ROI case, both for specific campaigns and the overall impact of Partnering with LFC through reports, presentations and dashboards
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders from other departments and assist in the development of data and measurement strategies for Partnerships

Support every stage of the Partner journey

  • Provide relevant insight and data narratives in support of the Partnership sales process
  • Assist the Partnership Management Team in the development of data and measurement strategies for each Partner, identifying opportunities for collaboration and data sharing with Partners
  • Assist in the compiling of mid-season, end-of-season and campaign reports for Partners
  • Support the renewals process with relevant insight

Manage relationship with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage relationships with data suppliers
  • Assist the Partnership Management Team by serving as a point of contact for Partners on data queries
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with current and prospective Partners where appropriate
  • Lead and mentor a team of Senior Analysts and Analysts, fostering a collaborative and data-driven culture

Support ad hoc projects

  • Provide insight and support to senior members of the Partnerships Team on strategic projects
  • Constantly identify areas for improvement in the partnership development process and contribute constructive ideas for bringing about positive change
  • Contribute to a team culture of ongoing development, collaboration and curiosity

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will be degree educated with a proven track record with experience in relevant data-driven insights role, ideally within sports rights holder or research agency. You will also:

  • Be confident in presenting the ‘what’ and developing the ‘so what’ to drive the next best steps.
  • Have a good understanding of commercial sports and its position in the broader media and entertainment industry.
  • Be both curious and entrepreneurial so you are always on the look out for new ways to improve the team and clubs offering
  • Be highly competent in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Have a high degree of competency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ideally, you will have experience working with data visualisation tools (specifically PowerBI).
  • Have strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • Be creative and persuasive.
