HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or HGV Fitter ready to step into a Workshop Supervisor role at a busy depot in Coatbridge. This is a great opportunity to move into a leadership position while staying hands-on and playing a key role in workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Workshop Supervisor / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter
• Lead daily workshop operations and trailer repairs
• Support and mentor other Technicians in the team
• Plan and prioritise workloads and urgent jobs
• Promote high health and safety standards at all times
• Identify cost-effective repair methods using your technical experience
• Assist with managing holiday cover, overtime, and stock
• Spot warranty opportunities and additional work revenue
• Deliver training and pass on technical knowledge
• Maintain accurate job cards and compliance records
• Ensure excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Workshop Supervisor / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter
Essential
• Qualified HGV Technician or Trailer Technician (City & Guilds Level 1–3 or equivalent)
• Strong team leadership skills and a proactive mindset
• Good communication and organisation
• Comfortable using workshop systems (training provided)
Desirable
• Previous workshop supervisory or chargehand experience
• A strong background as a hands-on HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
