Summary
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced SHE Advisor.
Please note this is a temporary contract running until November.

SHE Advisor role:
• Promote a positive SHE culture across the Water Division by implementing effective strategies that exceed client expectations and prevent incidents, injuries, service damage, and traffic collisions.
• Support safe production (including Temporary Works and PPVI), promote responsible driving, and drive a right-first-time culture through continuous improvement.
• Lead sustainability efforts across operations and the supply chain, focusing on maintaining safe operations, meeting occupational health requirements, embedding world-class standards, and managing environmental and sustainability risks.
SHE Advisor responsibilities:
• Ensure the effective implementation of safety, health, and environmental systems and procedures to maintain legal compliance.
• Ensure compliance with the business management system and all relevant processes.
• Identify and report any gaps in documentation, competence, and systems using the appropriate change request procedure.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections to support assurance and governance.
• Work proactively and collaboratively with the delivery team, managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other key personnel to establish and maintain a program of continual improvement.
• Ensure company applications are effectively used to manage operational risks, with compliance consistently monitored and enforced.
• Support the analysis and trending of root causes and non-conformities, ensuring timely and effective implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support operations in delivering client-related SHEQ improvement initiatives and ensure all personnel receive appropriate induction and onboarding before commencing work.
• Collaborate with drivers to manage Occupational Road Risk and promote safe driving behaviours to reduce at-fault traffic collisions.
• Ensure all relevant guidance documents, standards, and specifications applicable to operations are easily accessible and available when required.
• Assist the Group Supply Chain Control Team in preparing and submitting all subcontractor Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) evaluations.
SHE Advisor requirements:
• NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent qualification
• Professional membership with Tech IOSH or equivalent, supported by relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Knowledge and experience in Streetworks, excavations, plant and pedestrian interfaces, and Construction Design Management (CDM)
• Proficient in using work management systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications, with the ability to produce reports, analyse data, and implement action plans.
• Experience working with externally verified management systems such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and accreditation schemes including Achilles and Safe Contractor
