Job Description – Club Cook
About Us:
Ormskirk Rugby Union Football Club is based in Green Lane, Ormskirk L39 1ND
We are a members’ club but also welcome members of the public. Senior and Junior rugby is played at weekends from August to April with some functions and events during the summer months.
Job Overview:
We require an experienced part time cook to plan, cook and serve meals for teams at weekends and also hot and cold snacks to junior players and parents on Sunday mornings during the playing season. Normally 10-12 hours per week.
Job open with immediate effect.
Qualifications:
Level 2 food hygiene certificate
Food allergies certificate
Personal Specification:
Experience in a commercial kitchen is essential.
Excellent communications
Team player
Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritise tasks
Own transport preferable
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan and serve meals with nutritious and wholesome hot or cold ingredients
Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary
Plan recipes and compile ordering list of ingredients
Order ingredients and pantry supplies via supplier’s app. If the applicant has own transport it would be useful but not essential to collect from the warehouse in Skelmersdale.
Prepping ingredients such as meats, vegs, pastas and sauces.
Serving food and drinks to customers
Cleaning up kitchen space after food service
Maintaining pantry stock and re-stocking fridges, freezers and dry food.
Proper storage of food items at appropriate temperatures.
Maintain and record food safety aspects such as cooking probes and fridges/freezers
Reporting & Pay Rate
Responsible to Club Steward
Responsible for - None
Hourly rate £12.50 reviewed after 3 months
Paid weekly by bank transfer
Hours according to club activities but normally approx. 5 hours on Saturday afternoons and 6-9 hours on Sundays.
Liaise shifts and purchasing with Club Steward depending on club activities
Depending on the individual we can also offer bar staff duties in addition to the kitchen responsibilities.
