Summary

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support the delivery of an ongoing M&E package within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This is a 6+ month contract working on-site near Reading, with a rate of £40-45/hr LTD, outside IR35 (depending a full status determination).

The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident operating in regulated environments. You will support electrical project scopes, assist with verification of installations, and ensure adherence to strict technical and safety standards.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Support Project Management in ensuring electrical design and installations meet specification requirements.
- Ensure efficient, compliant execution of electrical project scope.
- Rigorously apply customer and regulatory specifications and standards.
- Review issued designs and associated technical documentation.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Verify and populate installed equipment data for Asset Registers and O&M manuals.
- Conduct on-site verifications to ensure designs meet required standards.
- Collaborate with design engineers to confirm fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Peer review subcontractor drawings and documents for compliance.
- Raise and manage technical queries (TQs) through to resolution.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers, including identifying and onboarding new electrical subcontractors.
- Witness FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and support project sign-off.
- Provide scheduling and tasking support to Lead Engineers and Project Management.
- Offer on-site technical support to the construction team.
- Participate in and promote a strong ESH (Environment, Safety, and Health) culture]

It’s great if you also have the following
Qualifications:

- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 2391 Inspection & Testing
- CSCS card
- BS7671 – 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Experience:

- Expereince in a similar role within a regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, defence, pharma)
- Ability to obtain SC clearance (UK nationals or those with indefinite leave to remain)
- Strong documentation, installation verification, and technical query management skills
