Summary

We are recruiting a senior-level Operations Lead to lead the delivery of the operational transition of the Mortgage Enforcement Lender Sales (MELS) team into its new Target Operating Model (TOM). This is a key role within a high-volume, fast-paced team, working closely with partners and senior leaders in MELS, across the Banking and Lender Sales Group and the wider firm.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in business management, project and change delivery and transformation leadership in volume businesses. They will be responsible for overseeing the execution of multiple workstreams, embedding change across the team and ensuring operational stability and client service excellence throughout the transition.

This opportunity is based in our Bristol offices and will be paid on a day rate via an Umbrella company. We are looking for individuals on no more than 2 weeks notice due to the urgency of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Programme Oversight

  • Lead the operational delivery of the MELS transition programme, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and TOM design.
  • Develop and maintain the transition plan and timeline.
  • Identify interim and long-term optimisation strategies.

Business Management & Operational Excellence

  • Review, identify and design short term process improvements to better represent a modern volume delivery centre.
  • Identify longer term transformational improvements to optimise processes and procedures for efficiency and productivity across operational and strategic teams in a modern volume deliver operation. Map and plan how these changes could be implemented.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling enquiries, developing action plans, and supporting communication and engagement strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as liaison between the MELS team, senior leadership, and wider firm stakeholders.
  • Draft and deliver clear communications and presentation materials for a variety of audiences.
  • Build strong relationships across the firm to increase responsiveness and operational alignment.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven success in a senior business management or operations role, ideally within volume financial services or legal operations.
  • Strong background in project and change management, with experience embedding large-scale transformation and volume process optimization and transformation.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and managing cross-functional teams in high-volume environments.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent understanding of volume business operations and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including fee earners and business services teams.
  • Some law firm experience preferred.
