Summary

Key Responsibilities Conduct developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed psychological assessments of children and young people, integrating data from outcome measures, observations, caregivers, educators, and multi-agency professionals. Take clinical ownership of full therapeutic pathways, including assessment, formulation, intervention planning, review, and discharge. Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that support psychological recovery, emotional development, and improved relational functioning. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, adapting your approach to the developmental and emotional needs of each young person. Provide reflective consultations and psychoeducation to carers, teachers, and support staff to build capacity and understanding around psychological and neurodevelopmental needs. Take a lead role in safeguarding, contributing to and sometimes leading on multi-agency safeguarding plans and meetings. Provide trauma-informed risk assessments and therapeutic recommendations for children and young people with complex needs. Contribute to the design and delivery of trauma-informed training for internal teams and partner agencies. Where appropriately qualified, provide clinical supervision to junior staff or partner professionals to support reflective and trauma informed practice. Support the strategic embedding of trauma-informed principles and psychologically informed environments across the service. Maintain accurate, confidential, and ethically sound clinical records in line with legal and professional standards. Participate in clinical supervision, continuous professional development, and reflective practice in alignment with your professional body and Alliance policies.
