We are looking for individuals who share the 'outstanding' ethos, are passionate about teaching, positively influencing learners' lives.

We offer a wide range of courses to approximately 4,000 Adult learners throughout Calderdale, accredited and community-based learning. Our provision adapts to the needs of our communities. It offers a range of opportunities to learn, grow in confidence, gain the qualifications that support entering employment, career changes, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, improving emotional health and well-being, and gaining skills to help in daily life.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, flexible tutor who has relevant subject knowledge and experience to deliver Functional English qualifications ranging from Entry level to Level 2. Teaching experience within an adult setting is essential. You will assess learners' starting points, tailor learning to individual needs and track progress. You will be an effective team player, be flexible, willing to take on new teaching challenges as new opportunities arise and have experience of using online platforms to support teaching and learning.
You will be required to deliver a variety of courses of various lengths and criteria, while still meeting Awarding Organisation specifications. Tutors are required to provide relevant IAG to identify appropriate future choices and pathways and ensure learners are aware of all the opportunities available to them.
A minimum of a Level 3 teaching qualification and a level 4/5 subject specialism is essential. You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of teaching, learning and assessment. We expect all staff to embed wider skills in their teaching including, British Values, Safeguarding and Prevent, Equality and Diversity to ensure that learners maximise their understanding.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.

Please note:
We have some flexibility to discuss and agreed day/times for this contract with the successful candidate. When completing your application, it is essential to evidence how you meet the personal specification in your person statement.
