Are you detail driven, process focused, and ready to make a real impact in a supportive finance team? MHA is looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant to join us on a two-year fixed term contract, supporting the day-to-day operations while we undergo an exciting period of finance transformation.
This role has been created to provide essential support to the Accounts Payable Manager (AP Manager), allowing senior colleagues to focus on our new system implementation. Whilst this role isn't directly involved in the project, it is a key part of ensuring operational stability and continuity through change.
You will work closely with the AP Manager to manage the purchase ledger and expense process, act as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal staff and help maintain compliance with financial procedures and procurement policies.

What you will be doing?
· Supporting the AP Manager with the end-to-end purchase ledger process
· Process supplier invoice and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and appropriate coding.
· Prepare and process weekly supplier and staff expense payment runs
· Managing supplier and expense queries
· Help maintain accurate records and support month end close
· Drive compliance with procurement policies
· Contribute to process improvements and team developments
What we are looking for:
· At least two years of experience working in an Accounts Payable role
· Solid understanding of purchase ledger processes and financial controls
· High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting
· Great communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
· Proficiency in finance systems and excel (e.g VLOOKUP's, basic pivot tables in a plus)
· A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
