The Role:

We are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to provide in-class and small group support at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will work closely with teachers to enhance learning experiences, assist with lesson preparation, and help manage classroom dynamics. This role offers valuable experience for individuals considering a future in teaching and could lead to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in lessons, both in-class and through targeted interventions.
• Assist in planning and preparing resources for lessons under teacher guidance.
• Help track and monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who may need additional help.
• Uphold the school’s policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusion.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and pupils as required.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

• Experience: Prior experience working with secondary school-aged children in an educational setting (e.g., school, tutoring, or youth work).
• Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Skills: Strong communication and organisational skills, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Training: Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies.
• DBS: An enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) is required. If not already held and registered to the update service, applicants must be willing to apply for one (cost may be covered by the applicant).
