Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a care assistant to join our new High Dependency unit as a Healthcare Assistant working 157.5 hours every 4 weeks. You will need to be flexible to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

The individual will assist in the assessment, planning implementing and evaluate the care of our service users under the guidance of qualified nurses.

You will assisting in supporting service users to engage in social/therapeutic activities, promotion of effective relationships which enable and address spirituality, diversity and equality in accordance to our organisations mission, values, vision and legislation.

Main duties and responsibilities
⚫Provide advice and instruction to patients to explain any procedures being undertaken
⚫ To follow individual care and therapeutic programmes for patients under the supervision of, a registered nurse.
⚫ To support care plans – help patients reach recovery goals, maintain ADL’s, attend appointments and develop coping strategies.
⚫Support registered nurses in physical health monitoring patients vital signs, drug or alcohol screening and promoting of wellbeing.( When appropriately trained)
⚫To be supportive and communicative with patients and colleagues.
⚫ Attend and participate in staff meetings.
⚫ To ensure at all times patients are treated with care and compassion
⚫ To ensure that privacy and dignity of patients is respected and maintained at all times.
⚫ Report any change or deviation from planned care package to registered nurses.
⚫ To be informed and aware of the patients clinical condition and individual circumstances to ensure the care and comfort of service users.
⚫ To provide patients with personal care.
⚫ To support in maintaining and promoting health and safety within the work environment.
⚫ Support and promote patient with management of their Section 17 leave of Mental health Act.
⚫ To assist in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times.
