Temporary until 21st September 2025Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking two enthusiastic and reliable
Summer Maintenance Assistants
To support the upkeep of our student residences. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with basic maintenance skills and a proactive attitude.Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance (e.g. painting, resealing showers, replacing lights)
- Assist with fire alarm and emergency light testing
- Support janitorial and housekeeping tasks, including linen handling and inventory checks
- Maintain accurate records and ensure health & safety compliance
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (including Maths and English)
- Good organisational skills and ability to work independently or in a team
- Flexible approach and willingness to work occasional weekends
- Experience working with the public is essential.
Additional Info:
- Overtime paid for extra hours worked
- Welsh language skills at beginner level are desirable.
- Role reports to the Maintenance Team Leader / Assistant / Halls Manager
